brake lights work tail lights dont

check fuses, replace the bulbs and check ground wires in tail lights.may be the wrong bulbs in them.get 1157 bulbs, check the ones in it now see if they are 1156,you want 1157.
not to be a dick, but theres no way can put an 1156 in an 1157 socket, theyre made to only go in one way, in only one socket, if you have mixed up the two, then maybe you shouldnt be working on vehicles
well like i said if your puttin a 56 in a 57, then your forcing it in, yeah it mite turn the bulb on, but if your so certified, then you would have realized the at the bottom of EVERY bulb theres two little dowl pin type things, they are positioned in certain ways and will only go one way, in one socket. yes you can make a 56 work, but it still wont be sitting in the socket right
YES I know that, but their are people out their that dont know the difference.
Try replaceing the head light switch,it works all the lights except turn signals, break lights, back up lights.

I just discovered the running lights only don't work on my truck! If this can help anyone, there is a plug under the rear driver's side that was corroded specifically the brown wire. This brown wire powers both running lights and plate lights. Good luck, I spent quite a bit of time on this……
