Well you would have a TBI set-up on there, and did they make a 1982 Corvette, or was that 1983, I can't remember. So you have a new fuel pump and same thing. I venture to say that it may need a new coil and or ignition control module.

Tell us what was the symptoms that led you to believe the fuel pump was the issue? Could it be blocked or nearly blocked fuel lines or filters? Have you had the fuel system serviced and there is no corrosion or gunk blocking the injectors? Is there spark as Rowetast subsisted may be the issue. 1983 was the year of no Corvettes being made. The 1984 was the new model which had it's issues and not until 1985 did GM bet most of the bugs out. So he great looking 82 was fine. Remember "E...82corvette" you need fuel, spark and air to get an engine to start. An 82 can have corrosion in the gas tank, crud in the filters, and injectors, computer issues, or electrical issues. Check the words, coil, distributor system and plugs. Or as some would say, a major tune-up and thorough check over. Sometimes is may just be a little thing, but in my experience it never is just one simple fix.
