1966 Ford F260 (F250 4X4)

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1966 ford F260 that I'm trying to
drive from my hometown in California to
Boise where I currently live, however, the
mechanic I had check on it to make sure it
could make the trip told me the rear leaf
spring was broken. I can't find the part
anywhere so I'm wondering if anybody
knows what model years of the 250 are
interchangeable with my truck.

Contact a local salvage yard, they should be able to find one for you. Or call these guys at the link and see if they can make one for you....http://www.generalspringkc.com/Leaf_Springs_Ford_F100_19 42_1972_s/1863.htm

There are plenty of sources in Cali for new springs- even stiffer if you want- there are shops that specialize in suspensions for pick ups-

Wow, I missed that he is from California, jamnblues is correct. Look for a local suspension shop that can either replace the broken leaf or make you up a new set of springs.

The plan is to eventually get them remade in Idaho afte it's here but I have a week to find springs and from what I've found nowhere has these early years. So the option I'm trying to take is to find out the interchangeable years that can be used as well and search for those also.
