I have a 1989 5.8l ford that backfires out the intake when high reving. It idles perfect but is lacking power on the highway. What could the problem be?? Please help.

Hello, There could be a number of problems causing this, so your best bet may be to visit a mechanic =(. However, if you want to check into a few things yourself first, I would recommend checking your time belt/chain. The valves may not be properly timed, or may not be closing completely. Best of luck!
