Maybe a better option would be taking a turbo setup from a Ford TurboCoupe. They share the same 2.3L. Easy job and get V8 horsepower. Just a thought.
true to above post,but the tranny would not holde up to it and dont think the wireing would be the same plus you would need the computer fron the doner vehicle.not worth thr trouble in my opinion.Iwould stay with the 4 cylender the v6 is not that great of a enging.
yeah I know that is not easy as it sounds. The MAF does not allow a typical blow off valve and everything about the turbo coupe seems to be placed differently and also the electrical in the 2.3l turbo has to be taken as well. The turbo thing would work if...you got the turbo, the pistons, the crank, possibly even the cam and the computer. So if you are going to do this swap just find a full system in a junk yard. But they are fast imagine double the horsepower of what you have right now. The SVO mustang which had the same setup was faster than the 5.0l in the 1/4 mile because of the weight to power difference.
