Engine swap

Asked by Nicholas Aug 30, 2018 at 12:00 AM about the 1998 Ford Ranger XLT Standard Cab SB

Question type: Car Customization

I have a 1998 4.0 ford ranger. I blew the original
1998 engine. Ive replaced the old engine with a
1996 4.0 ford ranger engine. What parts do I,need
to replace in order for the 1996 engine to run
correctly in a 1998 body?

You'll need everything that's attached to the engine (I've learned the hard way that the brackets that holds the alternator, steering pump, etc will not line up with the crank pulley) and everything that plugs up to the engine and especially the ECM.
