88 ford ranger is eating up my solenoid

Asked by Ronnie Apr 27, 2018 at 10:51 PM about the 1988 Ford Ranger

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

okay....so I've been swapping out solenoids like
they're going out of style,  it causes my truck not to
start or it won't disengage the starter. I'm on my
5th solenoid now this year,  and I'm in fear to drive
anywhere at this point. What's causing my truck to
eat up solenoids like it is?

Check if you have a hot wire making contact to a ground source or if there's a loose connection making an arc. And also make sure there's nothing hooked up backwards
