What is the hole on the bottom side of oil pan for?

Asked by drawsax May 30, 2014 at 12:32 PM about the 1987 Ford Country Squire

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Im not sure, but i think it has threads
on the inside of the hole. I was
wondering if maybe it had a sensor or
something that maybe is missing frm
it.

Lol. If no bolt in that hole you are in deep $hit. No bolt = no oil in engine = blown motor.

Was going to be an a$$ and say place finger in hole to keep oil from draining out. And drive to nearest auto parts for new plug. But now a days some one might just do it.
