Question type: General

Is there a way to know if a t-bird came with power steering since the data plate which tells of engine, color, manufacturer etc. doesn't include whether or not it had orginal power steering?

Dear nbbd02-- That's a tough question. There is nothing on the 1955 Ford Thunderbird data plate that would indicate whether or not it had power steering. Maybe a mechanic could locate it for you under the hood? While the base model 1995 Thunderbird was a fairly naked creature (even a heater and radio were options, although a steering wheel was standard equipment) from what I have read, most dealers ordered their Thunderbirds with a high equipment level, loading on the options for a higher profit. Power steering was one option that was included on a very high number of 1955 TBirds. It means the odds are that yours "might" have that option. How's that for a definite maybe? Good luck from Bovan.
