Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1963 thunderbird and want to replace the fan with an electric fan My
questions are,
1) is there any special problems with removing the mechanical fan itself,
2) can anyone suggest an appropriate size electric fan
Thanks

Just keep it stock- what's the problem? is it overheating? that mechanical fan is one of the greatest inventions ever made- lol

I would get the biggest electric fan that will fit. When you remove the old fan be sure and bolt the fan belt pulley back on. A flex fan is an alternative to the stock fan. Keep the original though.

If you want the car to warm up faster make sure the thermostat is not stuck open.

I'd have to agree with most of the others; keep it as stock as possible. *Do you have a good shroud around the fan ? That makes a big difference on keeping it cool. Might even cut down on noise.
