which side of the carburetor controls which bank of rour cylinders

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1963 Thunderbird two BLL carburetor, Im aware that of the two mixture
adjustments each one controls a set of four cylinders
One controls cylinder 1-4-6-7
One controls 2-3-5-8

Which mixture screw is it

Not that I know a lot about it- but the carb just dumps into the manifold- the 2nd barrel opens when the throttle reaches a certain point to dump more gas and air into the engine- I think that if you want carbs to connect to specific cylinders, you need separate intake manifolds-

They are idle air adjustment screws they dont have any specific. Cylinder feed.

Thanks both of you However I found an illustration in Glens Ford lincoln mercury tune up guide page 135 showing the different cylinders know as the fuel track It clearly shows the LEFT mixture screw feeding 1-4-6-7 and explains how this works I took a photo of the page but dont know how to let you see it? thanks again, I appreciate feedback from the many many people on Cargurus its good to compare results, If youre sure that it doesnt work that way let me know, Neil
