I'll check that next, I'm not sure what 4 ways are but all the other light systems on the car work as advertised

Oh! Yes they work, turn signals both work, reverse lights work, just no brake lights when you press the pedal but the switch is working at the master cylinder and I know a lot of 64's were fitted with relays by the washer bladder but of course mine doesn't. Nothing is easy right?
After market sequenchal moduel will fix problem for good.
On my 64 T-Bird the brake light relay behind the water bladder had gotten Rusty I remove the rest and filed the points and Wallah brake lights work again.
Cleaned the terminals and the brake lights now work Thank You
