Wash & Wax....or not?

Asked by RoseFlower Sep 30, 2019 at 02:29 PM about the 1974 Ford Thunderbird

Question type: Car Selling & Trading In

My 1974 Ford Thunderbird has been parked in an
open door garage since 1980ish.
Car hasn't been moved, washed or waxed since
then.
I started it and it turned right over. Lights,
automatic windows, all electrical works fine. Velvet
interior is pristine, never been smoked in nor eaten
in!
Basically interior is like new, engine is clean like
new. Tires are original, tred like new (slow air leak
in front right tire).
I'm short of cash and want to sell it (both parents
are deceist). My question is:
Should I pull it out to wash and wax it or sell as is?
Seems folks get more money when it's shiny!!

Wash it with warm water, and a dishwashing soap, will loosen dirt without scratching paint, Then wax with liquid wax.
