What is a Type F order on the build sheet
I recently found a build sheet for a '74 'Bird with the notation SHOW CAR at the bottom. It was an early build car, with a scheduled date of July 16, 1973. . .VIN #100972. It was sold new to District Region 58 - Twin Cities.
The car was parted out about 15 years ago, and I just recently received the build sheet from a friend of mine who said another friend of his had parted the car out.
THANKS

why you asking this now,was parted out 15 years ago build date would make it a 73,not 74,74 was a body change style and the show car means it was at a detroit show to reviel the new modle body style.
I didn't part this car out. A friend of mine had a friend that did 15 years ago, bought the interior out of it, and found the build sheet. He was recently going through some papers and rediscovered it, and knowing my interest in Thunderbirds, gave it to me. This is indeed an "early-built" '74 model, VIN 4Y87A 100972. I think preserving this information from the historical aspect is important to the hobby if the vehicle is still here or not. Although my interest has been for the older cars, having authored Motorbook's '58-'66 Thunderbird Authenticity & Restoration Guide and maintaining registries for the '61 Pace Cars, '62-'63 M-Series Tri-Power 'Birds, and '63 1/2 Monaco Special Edition cars . I've seen similar notations and have documentation on the ROT sheets of earlier 'Birds, denoting "early-built" Roadsters, the Hi-Perf Engines, and Parade and Show cars, so this one was clearly something special when built. I've even seen "late-build" '62's with '63 dashes, fuse box locations and other items that were probably mixed-in during transition between model years. . .cars built as "early or late" (however you look at it) as June and July. Typically, model year production doesn't begin until the first of August, but there are examples of cars being built by mid-July. This is clearly one of them. Anyway, I thought I would share the information with those interested, and "put it out there" so that the information and history of this special car could be preserved for posterity among enthusiasts!!
Hey, could you send a picture of this build sheet to burchclan6@msn.com? If I saw it it might help decoding it.
