First of all, a 351 isn't a "big block" If it is the 351-M, it is in between the 460 big block and the 302 small block. In 1978 Ford had 2 different 351 engines, one was just like the 302 and actually was a small block. I don't remember any T-birds with factory dual exhaust unless it was from California but the Chicago built cars were all single exhaust. I worked on the Chicago Ford assembly line building these cars in 1978. I know the 78 Birds better than most. If the mileage is accurate and it was in a dry garage and the mice didn't get into it. Once the car was cleaned up and the fuel tank cleaned out, fresh oil, antifreeze, etc. replaced before trying to start it then I would value that car at about what it cost when it was new or somewhere around $9,000.00 to $11,000.00 depending on if it is a base T-Bird, Town Landau or a highly optioned car with power windows, locks, T-roof, moonroof, etc. and either black, red, burgundy, dark blue, or silver. Unfortunately, white, tan, green or brown cars (especially T-Birds) don't bring much money no matter how many miles are on it. Now, If this is a 75th aniv. Diamond Jubilee Edition (it would be etched on the 1/4 window glass) then it might be worth considerably more. Send me some pics and I might be able to give you some more insight on the subject and where is the car located ? I'd love to see it. I may be interested in purchasing it. That sounds just like my uncles car. It was garaged all the time and only taken out on very special occasions. He worked for Ford in Detroit, but moved to Texas right after he purchased the car. Always in the garage and hardly ever driven. He died several years ago and his daughter got the car so I always wondered what happened to it.
