1983 T-Bird Heater Core

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need to replace the heater core in a 1983 T-Bird.  I have taken off the dash and have started working to remove the box that the heater core is in, but it looks like one or more of the bolts is on the other side of the firewall, is that right?  Also, there is another bolt that looks like it is bolted through to the engine compartment.  How do I get it out or should I just take off the top and remove the heater core while the box is still mounted to the car?
