Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Something seems to drawing the battery down to a no start condition during the night with every thing turned off.

All you can do is try and trace the draw down one circuit at a time. Make sure your battery is in good shape as old batteries can run down by themselves. A disconnect can be installed at the battery in the meantime so that you can start your truck in the morning.

Check the net. You will find the procedure for determining the parasitic draw on the battery, it is not difficult to find the offending circuit. But first check the light in the glove box if so equipped. I found two instances where individuals jam a lot of stuff in the box then force it closed. They broke the light housing which caused the caused the light to stay on all the time.

I changed and had battery and alternator double checked, all is good. However, I crank it up and everything works, then in about 5 to 10 minutes the battery starts drawing all the way down and has to be recharged. I pulled the battery lead when it was running and the engine cut off immediately making me think alternator, but its not. Can you give me some advice.
