Ford f150 5.4 triton 03

Asked by GuruCBFTM Feb 16, 2019 at 05:32 PM about the 2003 Ford F-150

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck sat for 2 years, clogged catalytic converters
was the original problem.  When I received truck I
cut off the converters and straight piped it. Used
starter spray and new gas to start it and it ran for
about 1min before stalling out. So then I changed
fuel filter and sprayed "seafoam" top engine
cleaner to clean injectors and put gas treatment
along with fresh gas in tank,  and will now start and
idle, I let it run on idle for 30min before trying to
drive but it keeps stalling out. Man what is going
on with my truck I just got??

If you removed the O2 sensors the engine has no idea what mixture to use. The removal of the cat will confuse the system even if the O2 sensors are still in place .
