May need a radiator flush, could be plugged up. You need the thermostat installed for it to run right also. The temperature controls how the sensors are adjusted by the computer. And you need a 50/50 mix of antifreeze not just water.

There's a 3/4" water line running from water pump under intake manifold to the rear of passanger head, check to make sure there's no restriction also check to see if water is circulating from pumo to radiator
