1996 300 I6 4X4 NOT STARTING OR CUTTING OUT-THE MECHANIC CHANGED IGN MOD WITHOUT DISC. THE BATTERY STILL NO GO-NOW THINKS IT NEEDS A DISTRIBUTOR - YOU SUPPOSE HE FRIED THE DIST. P/U OR WORSE ? HELP !

TRUCK WAS CUTTING OUT WHILE ROLLING AND WOULD KICK BACK IN
DIDNT KNOW IF IT WAS  FUEL OR SPARK- MECH. CHECKED IT, SAID
SPARK AND PUT AN IGN. MOD IN ( WITHOUT DISCONNECTING BATTERY)  
TRUCK TURNS OVER BUT WONT START- HE SAID THE DISTRIB. P/U COIL
ISNT SENDING MESSAGE TO THE IGN COIL-SO A NEW ( USED) DIST. IS
ON THE WAY - I HAD THIS TO 3 SHOPS NOW FOR SAME TROUBLE --
HELP ??

Guys-I picked the Ford up today, it is runnig good so far with the used Dist. I had 189000 miles on mine so it`s kinda like a new part right. Hope to get another 100K out of the truck, I only had it a few years and I really like it – we live in the hills of Arkansas, drive it to work every day plus haul a few things ( wood & kayaks ) we take it down the buffalo River roads and creekbeds. Thank you for the input, will keep you posted.
