can't find the code plug in

under the hood . This is an OBD 1 system and you will either need a scanner for ford or a scanner that does both OBD1 and OBD11. Prior to 1996 plug ins were designed for each manufactured vehicle different. Some parts stores will pull codes free and have the correct scanners as well as know its location. "SOME"
