2007 Toyota Rav4 - BAD tranny

Asked by RAV4Lorn Sep 29, 2015 at 03:46 PM about the 2007 Toyota RAV4

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had to replace the transmission in my 2007 Rav4 at 98,000 miles. Then, 12 months later (two days after the one year replacement warranty expired, I had to have it replaced again! That was one month ago and after they replaced it they said it sounded worse than the one they took out so I had to wait for them to find another one. I am hearing weird clunking sounds when I shift or start from a stop. So basically this car has now had 4 transmissions in it and still sounds bad. Is there anywhere I can go for help to re-coop some of what I have had to spend on this piece of &*()!@ car?

They don't make them like they used to, do they? Time to sell that thing- this falls under the file name "throwing good money after bad"
