Century 2002 Hard shifts up on all gears.

Asked by eblman Mar 09, 2016 at 11:25 AM about the 2002 Buick Century

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After this hard shifting began happening several months ago, I had the
transmission fluid changed (filter, fluid and cleaned magnet) after.  This didn't
improve it.  I will be changing out and cleaning the coolant system soon (as
well as putting in a new thermostat).  Any other ideas of why the transmission
would be hard shifing?

It going out unfortunately, this is classic transmission failure symptoms. I would have it inspected by a REPUTABLE transmission repair shop or mechanic. DO NOT get taken for a ride on promises of quick fixes for cheap. Diagnose the real problem and decide if the car is worth saving. Best of luck!
