Use a suction gun with a long hose to remove the excess.

Yes sir..it's also recommended to cycle through the gears prior to checking ...just didn't have a suction gun on hand..went to the store and bought a turkey Baster ..lol Thank y'all so much

Any auto parts store will have a hand pump that cost around $15 it looks like a bicycle pump with two long hoses at either end one goes down the tranny dipstick hole the other one into a clean receptacle to hold the fluid in which you can save as you may need it in the future. Just pump it a couple of times and you'll be surprised how much fluid comes flowing out of your dipstick hole through the hoses and the pump into your container
