What is causing my temperature gauge in my Buick Lesabre Custom to fluctuate???

If the water pump is leaking then you are getting air into the coolant line ... that's causing the fluctuation. I would get it repaired before it gets cold outside ,,, winter can be brutal to work on cars
When you say 'fluctuate' do you mean it goes whacky all over, from cold to hot and bounce around? That is probably a ground, not quite severed but not secure. If you mean the temperature shows cold in morning, cold start then warms up to normal operating temperature then shows hot, then back to mid-range - normal then could be thermostat or sending unit for gauge. Now, water pump. Where is the leak? Do you now for certain it is the pump leaking? This is the pump I don't know what the redlines mean I did not manipulate this picture
Good morning Tom we were posting at same time ....but I agree...good info
Thank Kew ... I should be cleaning up ( My electronics stuff is all over the place). But ... I just had to see what was going on.
If it goes just slightly above the mid line could be as minor as radiator flush is needed.
