There is a set of resistors in the instrument cluster (dashboard lights). These resistors are needed to illuminate the PRNDL (gear selection) and odometer readings. Due due to poor factory welding, your resistors have broken loose, and the cluster will need a rebuild in order for it to work correctly again. You may want to consider a rebuild that also replaces the gauge servo motors (they run the indicator needles) and backlight bulbs. It will be cheaper if you send your cluster in for repair, rather than have it have a shop include a removal and reinstallation as part of the job. Good luck.
Lt is correct but You tube have a video showing steps on how to fix yourself it's easy I did it.
