either you have a malfunction in the switch in the column, or you have a problem with your key- see a professional either at a dealership or local mechanic who can test it and tell you what is wrong- the dealership will have all the proper tools to work on it. you cannot disable it- it has a special key that must be used- also try cleaning the key off, waiting 10 min. and then try to start it again. it has a black piece in the middle of the key- make sure that is clean. that black part has a resistor code that must match what is in the ignition switch or the car won't start.

This answer is wrong you can disable it by using resistors that measure the same Ohms as the resistor imbedded in your key. The wire is an orange wire with two white wires inside simply connect your resistor between the two and you will bypass the one in your key.

I have a 2003 Buick Century and read different stories about can you or not bypass the security passkey system. Well I just tried what most said which is read the resistance on your key then get a resistor to match the ohms of you key. Then find the 2 white wires leaving the ignition switch and cut both in two. Then connect the resistor to the wires going down the column into the wiring harness. After that my car started right up.

That's not the way you fix your problem with the security lock out in your buick, I have 3 buick and I had problems with them all ,the way you fix that is to call a local lock smith and ask them to bypass the system

You can either spend an hour and a dollar to wire a simple resistor into the passkey leads to trick the ECM computer (the bypass method), or you can reprogram the MCAL chip inside the ECM (the actual delete). One of those is a hell of a lot easier than the other.

Your all too complicated fuck resistors and locksmiths. If you can't start it with the passkey you simply bypass the system it's that simple takes like 2 min start to finish. Find the purple wire coming theft system shave off a little of the robber sheath and a peice of ground wire. While starting simultaneously ground and unground, once running you can simply disconnect theft system without any further issues
