'96 Buick Skylark, wont turn over.

Asked by cronotrigger1 Nov 27, 2017 at 06:11 PM about the 1996 Buick Skylark

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We just got back from vacation (gone for almost a week) and before
cranking the car that had been sitting there for nearly a week I decided to
get some oil and add it into the top of the engine to help it with the turning
process. I get in the car everything comes on the dash just fine, turn the key
and the starter cranks, but nothing happens (the starter does sound a little
different than normal more grindy). I have had no issues with the starter up
until this point.

I should also note that the oil was changed about a two weeks ago, and the car is kept in a car port so it is exposed to temperature changes, etc.

Agree with above.....get a full charge on the battery. Many cars since fuel injection will not crank if the batter is below a preset voltage.
