Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have had my roadmaster for about 2 yrs it is a 94 and now the engine wont stay started it has plenty of gas and oil. I am thinking that it is one of three things the fuel filter or pump the car needs an oil change or the coilpacks are bad how can I tell which problem it is

How long does it run before stalling? I would check the ignition module these are prone to fail once the engine is hot. (located on the driver side head front of engine) Have you checked the fuel pressure? should be at least 60 psi to start and 40 psi to run. Also the coil coil be failing. Same as module once hot they break down and fail (you have only one located same spot as ignition module). Last but not least you opti spark distributor "could be" giving you some trouble. But those usually quit completely (my experience with these with 3 roadie wagons). Get a scan tool and check for codes. The light does not always go on when there is trouble right away. The computer sometimes waits for a few driving cycles to trip a code but will resister one if you check with a scanner. Good luck Dan

It uns about half a mile or less then dies.sometimes it just runs for about 30 seconds im new to working on cars im still learning
