Puzzled batter light coming on and off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

MY battery light has been coming on and off for over a month and a half now.  It died once at the end of June.  We thought it was a loose wire (battery bought last winter (2009), and/or corrosion.  Bought new terminal, and it's tight.

Though the light will go off and the alternator tested ok today.  While they were testing the light went on again.?????

Any ideas

OH....2006 PT Cruiser I did a check today, and with the light on, tried the bright headlights, charging Ipod, and when I turned the radio on it died, so obviously there isn't juice getting to the battery, but is it neccessarily the altenator

I had the same thing happened to my 2001 pt cruiser. I changed the alt. Come to find out it was a cut wire going to the starter in front of the radiator fan. Problem solved.
