Chrysler Town and Country overheating

My TC has been overheating. The gauge will be set on cold, a few min later temp raises to
half way, then the temp spikes to to the top. Replaced the thermostat and it didn't
overheat for a few days (in-town driving). Today, it overheated again. The heater stops
working when the van starts to overheat. What could be wrong??
Extra info: Our a/c compressor is out.

Have you checked the antifreeze? my town and country was doing the same thing so i went ahead and put antifreeze in the reservoir but it only worked like 10 minutes then it was spiking up again. I replaced my thermostat thinking that was the problem but it wasn't so my father-in-law opened up the radiator cap and the radiator was empty but my reservoir was full so we had to actually fill the radiator and that fixed the problem. I'm not sure if this will be helpful but it don't hurt to check it out
Yeah I'd try taking the radiator cap off and putting coolant in it slowly until you see it come to the top. Make sure the van is completely cooled first of course. Then fill the reservoir. Turn the van on and watch the radiator for any leaking. If you see any, you can try stop leak or buy a new radiator. Also check your fuse box under the hood and there is a medium sized fuse that has the number 40 on it. The lid to the fuse box will tell you which one goes to your radiator fan. It could he blown. That'll cause it to overheat as well. Good luck
May want to make sure the water pump isn't leaking. My radiator went and not long after the water pump followed.

I have had repeated problems with overheating in my 2014 Town and Country. I just took it to a shop that did some careful diagnostics and determined the following: 1. The Thermostat was functioning properly 2. So was the water pump 3. The was still no circulation in the cooling system. 4. There was some kind of obstruction in the radiator - This was the only thing left.... So they hit the radiator with an internal power flush and managed eventually to get the water flowing again. I don't know that this is a common problem....
