How am I getting gas in my oil without blowing white smoke?

Asked by chemical May 19, 2018 at 12:53 PM about the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have oil in my gas but the engine itself is running
really well still. I don't have a white or blue smoke
coming out of my muffler. There is very little car
shake.

Running rich would make black smoke. If you have a lot of gas in the engine oil it would probably be from a leaking fuel injector. If you remove the spark plugs you will probably find one that is black and sooty. I would change the oil right away!

I have changed the oil twice. One with the regular oil it said on the cap and this time with heavier oil. Went from 5w20 to 10w30 oil because autozone told me that older cars love the heavier oil.
