IS THERE AN INLINE FUSE OR FUSABLE LINK FROM ALTERNATOR TO BATTERY

The fusible link on sprinters is physically in the cable leading from the alternator to the battery. The cable passes up and over the transmission bell housing then on to the battery. The link is where the cable passes over the bell housing. It is not replaceable, the entire cable needs to be replaced. And, rebuilt alternators and good. Rarely do you get one that does not work. Check the voltage output directly at the alternator terminal.
