Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, everyone.
Long story short, my Dodge 2005 1500 has about 215k miles, when we
purchased it, he was used and he would run really well, just some minor
issues with the radiator and some leaking that were taken care of. No codes,
showing up upon check up, new battery, new alternator, no loss of electricity
on headlights or interior, no battery drain. A/C and Heater run great. After we
replaced alternator and battery the engine would turn over but not fire up, so
we parked it let it sit for about a month, then tried again and it would fire right
up and kept working a little over 10 rides until one day I parked and he would
not start up again. We tried, all kinds of little tips and tricks, turning the on
switch 3 times, knocking on the starter, disconnecting the battery, wriggling
the fuses cleaning the fuses, changed the spark plugs. Im at a loss, and I
cant afford to take him to a mechanic because he wont start, power steering
makes it impossible to move from the street. Any ideas aside calling the junk
yard?

Make sure battery has a full charge and battery cables/connections all good? If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you visually check for spark at the plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also, check fuel injector pulse. Those are the basic checks. If you have already checked all this, you need to let us know? If your missing everything, check the cam and crank sensor signals? Don't replace anything unless your testing points in that direction.

Thank you for the advice, Oilyspill. I tried again to start him, no luck but I a code P0522 and its missing some oil, planning to top it off and add some more gas today. I'll see about getting those steps you suggested undeway but now I gotta get someone to help me. I'll keep you updated! Thanks again for your time.
