I going thru this process now. Got it all out together and
learn about the 32 and 16. I went from the 32 to the 16.
Without pulling the motor and rebuilding. Can i not just
drop the oil n change the ring?

I don’t kno why it made this a single message i was replying some older one. But i swapped motors in an 03 dodge put in an 04 motor and the crankshaft ring has 16 teeth compared to mine used to have 32 n now won’t start

Do you mean the starter teeth on the flex plate or the gear count on the cam timing gear?
jetjurnigan answered 6 years ago
Then yes, your ECM crank sensor is looking for the 32 teeth, not 16. It's throwing off it's groove.
Well all is done. I swapped out tuner ring n hear on cam. Now the truck starts and run. But having issues. Isles kinda off. My dome lights flicker. Wen i get on it it stops at 4 rpm like my rev limiter is kicking on?? And i noticed the tensioner pulley is kinda bad. So could my belt be slipping? Or my alternator bad? What would be causing my lights to flicker my idling and not going past 4 rpm?

Bad grammar n spelling...geez...what's a hear, isles? You must have the only engine to idle a 4 rpm. Tensioner pulley will eventually fail. Alternator bad, belt slipping, need more info.
It’s called auto correct. What i meant was gear** and idle** I’m trying to work and ask before i get home and fuck with it. But idk if that alternator is bad or not. That’s just what I’ve been reading on. Idk what’s wrong with the truck. I swapped motors tuner ring on crank and gear on cam. My truck idles weird and when i get on it(accelerate) it won’t go past 4 but if i just ease like normally driving it shifts just fine.
