2002 dodge ram 1500 5 speed manual

Asked by GuruVB99G Sep 23, 2018 at 10:49 PM about the 2002 Dodge RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 02 dodge ram 1500 5 speed manual while in neutral will
idle between 500rpms and 1000rpms but doesn't just sit at
a normal rpm . It goes low then high and you can feel the
rpms fluctuating. I just changed my spark plugs and wires
and just did an oil change because it threw a code for
cylinder 1 misfire and the check engine light went off.
Being a female I've worked on lots of vehicles.  Im thinking
the my idling issue is the idling position sensor. Any ideas
or advice?

there's dozens of things that can cause stuff like this. Start with cleaning the throttle body...remove it to clean it. Also clean....carefully...the mass airflow sensor
