Dodge Ram Tires

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Dodge Ram 1500 truck tires I am unfamiliar with. The tire says they need
80 PSI. My cheap guage only goes to 40. My device for putting air in doesn't
seem to move much. So I am wondering if tire is being filled at all. Also the
tires don't look or feel low even though my guage is measuring them at about
30 psi. I just don't want to cause a problem. Should I just keep filling until my
device reads 80 psi? tires are LT 265/75R16.

NOOOO!. 80 is the max the tire can handle. There should be a decal or sticker inside the door jam of the truck that specify's the tire pressure. Most probably 30-40 lbs.

You do not need 80psi in a 1500. I would run 35 unloaded. Air them up to 40 or 50 when carrying a load. Get yourself an accurate gauge with the pressure range you need.
