my 2006 ram 1500 hemi lost 1st gear while in drive. i would manually shift from first gear at take off to drive to get it transmission shop. check engine light was on. replaced the shift control valve located inside the transmission. part was about $370. truck works great again.
the filter and fuild was just change.

I have a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 with 5.2 engine. about 1/3 of the time the transmission won't shift into 3rd. If I shift into neutral and back to drive then it will shift. It doesn't slip.
