low oil pressure and engine light

My car was running just fine. I was travelling home from work when low oil pressure light/message came on. Shortly after my car lost power and died, and engine light came on. The car starts, idles, and runs, but sounds terrible/rough, almost similar to a diesel engine sound.

you must have run it VERY low on oil and damaged the motor

Mine just done the same full of oil but lights on no oil pressure seems like oil pump bad
