new fuel pump does not work

engine has fire. tested all fuses. plug for fuel pump has fire, but fuel pump will not work?

I'm not sure of what you mean by "plug for fuel pump". The fuel pump will only run for 3 seconds at a time when the key is switched from off to on or after the key is released from the start position. Check the inertia switch and fuel pump relay.

The plug for the fuel pump plugs into a wiring harnesses. The harness has power at that plug. That same harness runs to the fuse boxes where the relays are. They also have power. The pump will not run when it is in the tank!
