Car suddenly quits moving, although I am pressing the gas

Asked by Libbyf Sep 12, 2018 at 11:01 PM about the 2006 Lincoln Zephyr

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr. My ABS light has been on
for a while, but this has never caused a problem. All of a
sudden, one day I was driving and my car just quit
moving. No matter how little or much I pressed the gas,
the car would not go. Suddenly, it felt as if it would catch,
and then it would rev up and jerk forward. It would go for
a little, and then do the same thing. Eventually, after 2
times it started to run normal. What could this be?

Had a similar prob, check to see if the wires on your car battery. Make sure they are snug and secure to maintain proper connection. That’s all I got, hope this helps!

I’ve got the same problem on my 2006 Lincoln zephyr. It stops moving while driving after it warms up. Just changed pcm because it was going dead. Does not go dead anymore but stop pulling like it is shifted to neutral. Help!
