Headlights won't turn off??

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello all!
I recently took my car out for dinner and kept the car running while my girlfriend ran
inside. I switched off the headlights with the manual headlight switch and they turned
off like normal. I put the car in drive and they turned back on as normal. When I got
home, I noticed my headlights were still on (Which is unusual because they turn off
when I take they key out and open the door.) I tried using the manual headlight switch
and it turned all the dash panel lights, as well as the parking lamps off, but the
headlights remained on and drained the battery dead. Two things turn them off;
disconnecting the battery (they turn back on as soon as it is reconnected) and pulling
out a metal fuse in the LCM/HDLP spot stamped "Breaker" in the engine bay
fuse/relay box.

Any help??

I have a new switch ordered. I'll post tomorrow and see if that fixes it.

Sounds like you may have accidentally flipped the "twilight" option. Basically keeps your lights on for a certain length of time after you turn off the car.

I believe it is the relay however there are about five relays and nothing marking which one is the headlight relay.

It was a wire in the steering column that got shorted to ground. I don’t remember exactly which.
