94 Oldsmobile 98

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Please help. Litterally
stranded.  In case any
mechanics can give us
any suggestions on
what our problem could
be. About 3 weeks ago
we spend $1100 and
had 4 sensor replaced.
Ran perfect until about
4 days ago. We towed it
to a shop and wanted a
diagnostic done but
they said it was just our
battery terminal. So we
drove all day yesterday
and no problems. Then
all of a sudden it died
out again and won't
start as we were
traveling down the road.
Please help. We think
we hear the fuel pump
when we turn the key
but aren't exactly sure
what that ticking sound
is.

It could very well be battery terminal issues. A bad ground will mess all kinds of stuff up. My suggestion right now would be to track your main grounds down, usually one to the frame and one to the engine, and make sure they are good. Clean and tight, also clean your terminals off to the best of your ability and see what happens. Try and get a jump off if you can. Once you get it started, unhook the ground from the battery while it's running, if it kills, you need a new alternator. Hope this helps
