Car starts then dies and wont start till the next day

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Saab 900 convertible. It was given to me by my grandma after it
had been sitting for about no more than 10 years. So far I've replaced the
alternator, fuel pump, battery, more rote, distributor cap, spark plugs, spark
plug wires, fuel injectors, fuel filter, oil filter, and the oil. We have this little cycle
going on where my car will start and die after about 10 minutes. After about a
day it will start again and do the same thing. We are wondering what my issue
could be because my mass airflow sensor is good. Any ideas?

First thing I would have done is drop the fuel tank and clean it out , also purge the fuel lines with fresh gas . I guess you could have rigged up an external fuel pump to see if it runs O.K. Once you get it started see how it drives and what the exhaust looks like .

That's my question what's the fuel system look like? 10 year deep storage is a long time for a car, there are alot of variables munched on wiring, rusted ground connections.poor pcm connections ect.

You only need three things for the engine to run. Ignition (spark), fuel, and compression. We know you have compresson because it will run. So that leaves ignition and fuel. Once it quits try spraying a little bit of starting fluid down the throttle body. It should run on that for a few seconds. If it does, you have a fuel problem. If it won't run on the starting fluid at all you have an ignition (no spark) problem. Hope that helps! Jim
