Describe good. Buying any 18 year old vehicle will have it's issues. Is the Carfax clean? What is the mileage?
I've owned three Saturns in my lifetime a 1994 a 2000 and a 2001 one was a manual stick shift two were automatic they were all sc2s I had really good luck with them they're a little bit proprietary on parts and tools to fix them meaning there's kind of a monopoly on the parts so it's a little difficult to find parts but there's enough of them in the junkyard still I think you can fix them up they're good & they save gas they're not the best built cars but they're not the worst either. Buy em for cheap use them get another one that's what I say!
I would have to say the age of the car is pointless ! you can get a 5 year old car and have it the shop more times then a 18 year old car Ed92626 on your point of finding parts any good part store should be able to get the parts if not the same day with in the next 2 days ! and on the mechanics who are willing to work on these cars if Moose can't find a mechanic he can email me and I will walk him thought it step by step ! Moose on a good or bad car I have found that you will need to check these spots on the car for rust out and holes the front sub frame on both sides where the ball joints /control arms // at the rear where the trailing arms join the body // the frame from side to side all away around the gas tank // if it is a 4 door or wagon open the rear doors and check the top of the rocker panles on the 2 /3 door drives side at the back of the door frame body side and the frme rails under the floor at the frontof the car
