WILL A 98 2.2 ENGINE INTERCHANGE INTO A 2000 MODEL ?

i DONT KNOW THE EXACT DETAILS OF THE CARS RIGHT NOW  . 2000 MODEL IS PRESTINE BODY WISE. BUT THE ENGINE OVER HEATED AND THE PROFESSIONALS WANT TOO MUCH TO REPAIR IT.  WE HAVE ACCESS TO A GOOD RUNNING 1998 2.2 ENGINE IN A CRAP CAR.  CAN WE JOIN THEM ?
