How do you reset the engine service
light

You get a scanner and reset codes, Walmart even sells one for around $20. Resetting the codes doesn’t fix the problem, because the light will just come back. The scanner will let you know what’s wrong with it. Possible, it could be smethung as simple as a bad or loose gas cap. Solve the issue, then reset the code.

A simple code scanner can be used to clear the codes. But if you didn't fix the issue that illuminated the light in the first place, the light will come back in short order. Another trick is to remove the negative battery cable from the battery for 20 mins to clear the memory.
