Hi debstoy3, EPC stands for Electronic Pedal Control. This is a monitor for your brake pedal. Hope this helps!

Don't listen to anyone who tells you EPC stands for electronic pedal control. It stands for electronic POWER control and it means the onboard computer has switched to a BACKUP system with limited capabilities, probably because you have one or more faulty sensors. Take it to Auto Zone and ask them to read your trouble codes, which they do for free.

2006 VW BEETLE EPC Light is on. I took it to a Riley's, they hooked it up to their machine. There were no codes. What can I try next?
