Go to a website like VWVortex.com and post your Cabby for sale, making note that it needs a tranny. There are thousands of enthusiasts that buy cars just like that, because those trannys are cheap in junkyards and they do their own work. Just make sure your pricing reflects the fact that it needs work. There are local forums on VWVortex as well, so you can post it to people in your area.
