Error code...?

Hi All, I have exactly the same car and exactly the same error codes. In addition to the error code, in my car I experience the behaviour described here: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php? t=168829 Anyone has any idea on what the problem could be? Thank you very much in advance.
Bazbart giv us this answer: "Hi, The car is long gone now. I got the pedal changed but the garage never updated the software initially. There was no change. I eventually brought it to a Volvo garage in another town and explained that the pedal was changed. They updated the software and they also updated the Volvo ecu software and after doing that it drove perfectly. I hope that helps." Maybe that can help?
Please give feedback on how it went if you try this! :)
Hello, yes I saw that answer from the forum I linked. Nonetheless, that refers to code P1577 only and not to the "combination" of P1577 and P138B. I was wondering if anyone had the exact same issue we are facing, and found a solution. Thanks
I have not yet found anyone in Norway who knows what this error code means on Volvo S40, 1,6 diesel... :(
About Volvo fault codes, it refers to a lot of information, for example: Fault Codes WARNING! Read the safety instructions for handling and service in chapter “Safety information” before starting work. NOTE: Reading the fault codes below, such as Code 2.1, PID /SPN 97, where 2.1 is a flash code indicated by a flashing diagnostic lamp. PID / SPN 97 is read with the VODIA diagnostic tool. When using DCU or DU, the fault code is displayed as plain text. For a further explanation, see “Reading fault codes”. NOTE: Please refer to “Wiring schedule CIU and DCU” for references to the sockets in the electrical connectors on the engine control unit. Code 1.1 No faults There are no active faults. Code 2.1, PID / SPN 97. Water in fuel Reason: • Water in fuel. Reaction: • None. Action: • Empty the fuel pre-filter. Code 2.2, PID / SPN 111. Coolant level Reason: • Low coolant level.
